I grew up in Morro Bay and getting to go to the Midnight Movie at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo was sort of like a right of passage, at least in my 9th grade mind! My older sister was kind enough to drive my best friend and me and give us this experience. I love art deco theaters and have wanted to paint this one for years. My daughter got the reference photo as we drove past it one night. Of, course, I had to make it say Midnight Movie!
