As a kid, my Dad would always stop at the scenic overview spots including Glacier Point before descending into the valley. Half Dome would stand out like an old friend greeting us. It is also one of the most iconic, unmistakably recognizable sights in Yosemite. Half Dome is impressive and for me, irresistible to paint. While there is a reassuring constancy to it, the light and weather change its appearance and glow. I just can't help repainting it according to my mood.
